To uninstall and reinstall America Online (AOL), first download and
install the latest version of AOL from the following Web site:
http://www.aol.com
NOTE: The URL above will take you to a non HP Web site. HP does
not control and is not responsible for information outside
of the HP Web site.
To uninstall AOL for Windows 98 and ME, perform the following steps:
1. Click Start, select Settings, and choose Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Under the Install/Uninstall tab, double-click the America Online
application.
4. Click Yes to remove the program from the system.
5. Repeat the above-mentioned steps for all entries of AOL under the
Install/Uninstall tab.
6. Click Apply and then click OK.
7. Restart the system.
AOL will be uninstalled from the system.
To uninstall AOL for Windows XP, perform the following steps:
NOTE: You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of
the Administrators group in order to complete this
procedure.
1. Click Start and select Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Select America Online from the list of installed programs.
4. Click the Remove button.
5. Click Apply and then click OK.
6. Restart the system.
AOL will be uninstalled from the system.
After uninstalling AOL completely, install the downloaded latest version
of AOL.
