Avoid the startup menu appearing during the bootup process. Please perform the following steps to do so:
1. Click Start, Run.
2. Type "msconfig" (without quotes) and press enter key.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Click the Advanced button.
5. Click the box against "Enable Startup menu" to uncheck it.
6. Click Apply (if enabled.)
7. Click OK.
After you perform the steps mentioned above, you may have to restart the system. Please do so when prompted to.
If the above process does not resolve the problem, please perform the following steps:
1. Click Start, Find and choose Files or Folders.
2. In the Named edit box, type "msdos.sys" (without quotes.)
NOTE: Make sure you check the C: drive from the Look-in list.
3. Click Search.
4. Right click the msdos.sys entry listed in the search results.
5. Choose Open With option.
6. From the list of programs available, choose Notepad.
NOTE: Make sure you do not check the box reading "Always use this program to open the file."
7. In the file, make sure BootMenu is set to 0.
8. Save the file and exit.
